Pick Your Own Sunflowers

Posted on 07/08/2018

Location: PYO Sunflowers Field, Lodge Farm, Kineton, Warwickshire

Price: FREE Entry. 50p per Sunflower stem.

What an absolute delight this place was.

You drive down the farm lane where you find parking on the right hand side by the fields.

There is a picnic area where you can bring your own picnic and sit on the tables (or grass) overlooking the beautiful fields of sunflowers. The tables have cute little vases with sunflowers in.

We found more tables for picnics on our way around too.

When you’re ready to walk around you can grab some cutters from the table and a glove to borrow and head on into the sunflowers to choose the ones that you want.

At only 50p a stem, regardless of size (and there’s all sorts of sizes available) it really is a bargain.

We chose 5 for a bargain £2.50. It’s good to add here that the money raised doesn’t profit the farm, instead they donate the money to charity. And the charity changes on a yearly basis.

Matilda really enjoyed being able to pick her own sunflowers and cut which ones she wanted to get.

The Sunflower field isn’t always manned and when it isn’t, people are asked to place the money in the honesty box. Do take change for this.

We spent a good hour here and had a lovely time.

Please do go and visit it yourselves too. I don’t think my pictures completely do it justice.

Hi Kerry. Sadly the fields haven’t had a good growing season so they’re not open at the moment. They do have a second batch on the way though. I’ll make sure I put a post up when they flower and they open the fields x

Sorry Amy, I seemed to miss this comment. Someone went and looked earlier last week and they said they thought another week or two. My guess is it will be next week. X

Hi Harry, Thank you for your message. The PYO Sunflower Fields are expected to open in September this year. Have you considered visiting Cotswold Lavender Fields in the meantime? Although not sunflowers, it is still a pretty trip out. Thank you, Kelly.

Thank you so much for your help and your informative website! I really appreciate it! We will be looking to go to the lavender field this weekend, anywhere else you’d recommend for this weekend, in the midland/Warwickshire area?
