1. Pantomime: Cinderella

Location: Blue Orange Theatre, 118 Great Hampton Street, Birmingham, B18 6AD

Dates: 29th November 2022 – 10th December 2022

Details: Join Cinderella on the most exciting night of her life as she meets the magical Fairy Godmother and falls in love with the handsome Prince. Boo and hiss the evil step-sisters, and sing, dance and laugh with Cinderella’s best friend, Buttons!

Will Cinderella win the day and find romance with her one true love? Or will the nasty step-sisters spoil the day?

2. Pantomime: Dick Whittington

Location: Birmingham Hippodrome, Hurst St, Southside, Birmingham B5 4TB

Dates: 17th December 2022 – 29th January 2023

Details: Marti Pellow returns to Birmingham as The Ratman in the ultimate pantomime adventure, Dick Whittington. Marti joins Birmingham panto legend Matt Slack, TV celebrity Dr Ranj and actress, singer and television personality Suzanne Shaw in this star-studded, action-packed adventure full of laughter, music and dance.

The UK’s biggest regional panto will also see the return of Hippodrome favourites Doreen Tipton and Andrew Ryan. Featuring sets and costumes from The London Palladium, spectacular special effects and plenty of audience participation, this is the perfect chance for audiences to come together and share the magic of live theatre.

3. Pantomime: Rapunzel and the Rascal Prince

Location: Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, Upper Clifton Road, Sutton Coldfield, B73 6DA

Dates: 6th Dec – 31st Dec 2022

Details: Welcome to a very green England, many years ago, the eco- setting for Sutton Coldfield’s 2022 Pantomime spectacular… Rapunzel and the Rascal Prince!

The village has run out of herbs.

Ginger sneaks into Ragwort the witch’s herb-garden to ‘borrow’ some.  Bad move. Caught! The witch threatens the village with immediate extinction unless Ginger and Sorrel give her their daughter.

With tears and tantrums, Rapunzel has to go with Ragwort who locks her up in a tower without a door forever and ever. The only way to reach her is by climbing up her extremely long hair. The only people around to save Rapunzel are bonkers Hyacinth Horseradish and a wise old owl called Sage. 

Years and years pass by with Ginger and Sorrel getting sadder and sadder, Ragwort getting badder and badder and Hyacinth Horseradish getting madder and madder. Oh, and there’s a fire-eating worm as well!

But one day the handsome rapping Prince Rapscallion rides by and hears Rapunzel singing in her tower, and from this moment the world will never be the same again. . .

After the huge success of Cinderella in 2021, the Production Exchange comes back to the Town Hall with a great cast of actor musicians, beautiful scenery, fabulous dance, stunning costumes and a talented young ensemble to perform the ultimate family classic.

4. Pantomime: Dick Whittington

Location: Arden Hall, Water Orton Road, Birmingham, B36 9PB

Date: 27th November 2022

Details: After their SELL OUT tour in 2021, Lemon Jelly Pantos presents the PURR-FECT family pantomime, Dick Whittington.

5. Pantomime: Beauty and the Beast

Location: The Core Theatre, Solihull

Dates: 9th Dec 2022 – 2nd Jan 2023

Details: In the pretty French village of Mont Sue-Relle, bookish Belle is ready to start a new chapter and find some adventure.

However Belle, and her friend Jacques and his mum, Betty the local bell ringer, get much more than they bargained for when they find themselves trapped inside the enchanted castle of a mysterious beast.

Will true love conquer all? Will the curse of the Enchantress ever be broken? Will Betty drop a clanger?

6. Pantomime: Jack and the Beanstalk

Location: Belgrade Theatre, Belgrade Square, Coventry, CV1 1GS

Dates: 23rd Nov 2022 – 7th Jan 2023

Details: This year’s legendary Belgrade pantomime is the enchanting tale of Jack and the Beanstalk – and it’s our fastest selling panto ever!

7. Pantomime: Jack and the Beanstalk

Location: Highbury Theatre, Sheffield Road, Sutton Coldfield, B73 5HD

Dates: 13th Dec 2022 – 17th Dec 2022

Details: Based on the traditional story, this hilarious pantomime (written by a local author) is coming to Highbury Theatre in Sutton Coldfield in December, courtesy of award winning From The Top Theatre Company.

The show has everything you would expect from a traditional pantomime, from a wide variety of songs and dance numbers, to brilliant characters, and continuous laughs throughout!

From The Top Theatre Co. are based in Shenstone and have members from all over the North Midlands, from Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall and Lichfield. Members are aged 14 to 74 and the company perform a musical and a pantomime each year. After the success of last year’s pantomime, Robin Hood, they are excited to be back at Highbury Theatre to perform again!

8. Pantomime: Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Location: Rialto Plaza, Coventry,

Date: 21st December 2022

Details: The Rialto will be transformed into a colourful circus setting and packed solid with comedy, songs, adventure, and audience participation. The children will love to boo the horrible Dame Gertie Grump, roar with laughter at the comedy antics of Silly Billy, and of course meet Goldilocks herself, plus the friendliest Three Bears you’ll ever see!

9. Pantomime: Aladdin

Location: Wolverhampton Grand Theatre,

Dates: 3rd December 2022 – 7th January 2023

Details: It’s all you could ever wish for in a pantomime – ALADDIN flies into Wolverhampton this December packed with a lamp-load of laughs and genie-us special effects!

10. Pantomime: Sleeping Beauty

Location: Walsall Arena, Hawbush Road, Leamore, Walsall, WS3 1AG

Dates: 9th – 18th December 2022

Details: The classic tale of Sleeping Beauty is coming to Walsall Arena.The team that brought you last year’s spectacular show are back to entertain with more songs, silliness, audience participation and all the fairytale magic of panto!

Princess Aurora has been left in charge of the castle, while her parents are away on important diplomatic business, at an all-inclusive in Faliraki. When she invites top magical rock band ‘Fairy 3’ to perform at her birthday party, it starts a chain of events that will put her whole world into a spin.

Come and join the fun as our heroes battle against the evil plans of Fairy Liquids, whilst also trying to train up a brave knight, rock out on a kazoo and smash a unique world record never before attempted on stage.

11. Pantomime: Aladdin

Location: Priory Theatre, Rosemary Hill, Kenilworth, CV8 1BN

Dates: 14th – 31st December 2022

Details: Aladdin, a poor boy, has dreams of exploring forgotten lands, flying carpets and falling in love with a beautiful princess and in this traditional family pantomime you can expect all the above and more. Through his adventures, he meets a suspicious and unpleasant Abanaza, a magical Genie and the Spirit of the ring.

Then there is his mum Widow Twankey and his brother Wishee Washee who are busy creating chaos in the laundry! 13. Pantomime: Beauty and the Beast

Location: The Palace Theatre, Redditch

15. Pantomime: Beauty and the Beast

16. Pantomime: Sleeping Beauty
