The Best Halloween Events in the Midlands 2026

Posted on 04/09/202604/09/2026

Are you looking for the best Halloween events in the Midlands in 2026? We’ve rounded up some of the spookiest and most exciting Halloween days out across the region, from family-friendly Halloween trails and pumpkin picking to creepy attractions and terrifying fright nights.

Whether you’re looking for Halloween events in Birmingham, a spooky day out with the kids or something a little scarier for older visitors, there’s plenty happening across the Midlands this October and Halloween half term. Keep checking back as we update regularly.

Please note that some of these may contain affiliate links where I gain a small financial gain from the company for sharing on my website. I do however only share things I have and would spend my own money on and do genuinely enjoy.

The best places to go pumpkin picking

Ryman’s Pumpkin Farm, Manor Farm, Wall, Lichfield, WS14 0AH

Our personal favourite, thus it taking the top spot of this guide. Located just on the outskirts of Lichfield, Ryman’s Pumpkin Farm is the perfect place to go pumpkin picking. Your ticket gives you entry to the farm (filled with a huge variety of pumpkins to pick – all different colours and sizes and all farm grown), the use of a wheelbarrow (or two – depending on how many pumpkins you want to pick), you can enjoy tractor and trailer rides (as many as you like), seasonal games in and around the patch, lots of photo opportunities, a pumpkin carving area, little shop and a catering area – serving up tasty cakes, hot drinks and tasty bites to eat.

We go every year and absolutely love it. It is very much smallhousebigtrips approved.

Rymans Pumpkin Farm

This year alongside the traditional pumpkin picking day time slots (which start from 3rd October), they are also doing a Pumpkin Picking After Dark session on October 9th. Wrap up warm, bring your torch and roam the pumpkin patch after 6pm. Find your pumpkin, roast some marshmallows, enjoy a drink and get into the Halloween spirit. Or maybe you would prefer to smash pumpkins? If that is more your thing, tickets are available to book for Smash Day on 1st November. Ryman Pumpkins way of avoiding any waste. Come dressed in your best Halloween costume and roll, throw, smash, kick and do whatever you would like to the pumpkins, having fun whilst helping to enrich the soil for next years crop. You can even bring your own pumpkins from home to smash, save you using up all the space in your food bin. An artisan market will be at the event too, perfect for starting your (sorry to mention it) Christmas shopping.

Lower Drayton Farm, Lower Drayton Lane, Penkridge, Staffordshire, ST19 5RE

If it is a whole day out that you are looking for, Lower Drayton Farm has the full experience. You can enjoy a day looking around the farm, enjoy a spooktacular time in their large soft play and book tickets to the PYO pumpkin experience (the two are usually separate). Over the years the girls have been able to pick potatoes and carrots too, which they really enjoyed. Ride on a tractor and enjoy the opportunity to pick your own pumpkin from the vine.
