We had a sweet Sunday watching Wonka at The Light Cinema in Walsall this morning. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Timothée Chalamet brings a deliciously enchanting twist to the iconic role of Wonka, infusing the character with allure and charm.
The Wonka movie explores the backstory of Wonka’s younger years, uncovering the surprising events and life experiences that shaped the character before he became the owner of the iconic chocolate factory that we all know so well in Roald Dahls, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The film had us laughing and also pulled on our heartstrings, too, as we watched the journey of Wonka from boy to man and his fight to be the chocolatier that he had so dreamed of.
Those who know me well, know my huge love of Hugh Grant and his appearance in this film is hilarious. He makes for a fabulous Oompa Loompa.
It was nice to see other well-known faces like Olivia Colman, Rowan Atkinson, Phil Wang and Matt Lucas in the film, who all played their roles perfectly. There’s no ‘bad nut’ in this film (little nod to a part of the stage play of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).
Calah Lane, who plays one of the lead roles as Noodle, is a star in her own right. Calah and Timothée had a great back and forth together, which was a real pleasure to watch. I think we will be seeing Calah as a lead in many future films.
It’s a scrumptious film written and directed by the wonderful Paul King (the man who directed the Paddington Bear films).
Are you going to see it? Or have you already been to see it this weekend?
