This weekend saw the opening of the much awaited Wolverhampton Adventure Golf at Perton Park Golf Club and we couldn’t wait any longer to visit, so purchased tickets for today (Sunday 28th June).
From the moment we entered the grounds, you could tell that this impressive 4500 square meter site had the wow factor. A brand new Jurassic golf course featuring 18 specially designed holes. Along the course you get to see a variety of escaped dinosaurs (Spinosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus and an Anchisaurus to name a few) and many dinosaur eggs – let’s hope they do not hatch whilst you are there!
All around the course are 1000 new plants, rapids, a waterfall, broken down vehicle and plenty of wooden bridges to get you across the water.
And let’s not forget the all moving and sound enhanced 20ft resident T-Rex. Jemima gave him a good run for his money with the roaring.
It is recommended that children are 4 and above to play but that doesn’t mean that they cannot play – they can, and for FREE too.
This is the perfect course to tempt little ones into the fun of golf. And lets be honest, it is perfect for grown ups too.
This is going to be the venue where family days out, date days, catch up with friends, corporate team building events and birthday parties happen.
The site is open every day from 10am – 7pm and tickets are very reasonably priced.
Adults (aged 14 plus) : £8.50pp
Children (Under 14) : £6.50pp
Under 3’s: FREE
NHS / Students : £7.50pp
Family of 2 adults and 2 children: £28
4 adult saver ticket : £30
In terms of the current pandemic, social distancing is observed as all bookings MUST be made online prior to visiting. 10 minutes is kept between each booking and all clubs and balls are sanitised before and after use.
When you arrive at the ticket desk, you measure your children against a height chart to work out which sized club they need to use. You each get to pick a coloured ball, 1 score card and pencil per team, then make your way to the start of the course.
After you have finished all 18 holes, you can refuel at the kiosk where they do takeaway food and drink, including slushies, ice creams and hot and cold drinks. My two girls had a sausage roll each, a slushie to share and an ice cream – greedy monkeys.
And we sat down on the picnic benches overlooking the course to enjoy them, before we headed home. Toilets are available at the moment too. I know some venues closed toilets, but these are open.
We had such a lovely time and thought it was well worth the £28 ticket that we purchased.
We can’t wait to go back again.
