What’s On In… JUNE!

How is it nearly June already? I’m unsure where the year is going. But it’s been a great year so far, action packed and full of fun and it looks like June will continue to be like that. Did you get chance to pop to some of my recommended trips out and events in May?

Take a look at all of the fantastic things that are going on in the local area in June. This post will be updated regularly so do keep checking back.

1st June 2018

Big Bounce at The Soho House

Address: The Soho House Museum, Soho Avenue, Birmingham, B18 5LB

Price: FREE

Time: 11am – 4pm

Bounce on the bouncy castle and take part in some of the fun garden games that will be laid out. All for FREE. The house will be open for tours too but the usual charges will apply for the tour.

Family Activity, Adventure in Natural History at Aston Hall

Address: Aston Hall, Trinity Road, Birmingham, B6 6JD

Price: Adults £8, Children £6

Time: 11:30am – 1pm and 1pm – 3:30pm

There are a whole host of activities taking place in Lady Holte’s Garden including making a nature crown, interactive story telling, examining some of the creatures that live in the grounds of the Hall and you can even join in with a worm dance.

Family Fun Day at Wednesbury Library

Address: Wednesbury Library, Walsall Street, Wednesbury WS10 9EH

Price: FREE

Time: 1pm – 3pm

Craft activities, stories, games, colouring and Steve the Juggler at 2pm.

2nd June 2018

Little Red Hen at Birmingham Repertory Theatre

Address: Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Centenary Square, Broad Street

Price: Adults £10, Children £7 and Babes in Arms £2

Time: 2pm – 3pm

Come along and get yourself some second hand bargains in great condition. From clothes, to toys. Books to garden games. Prams to ride ons.

3rd June 2018

The Ultimate Dog Festival with Pawpounders Doggy Day Care in Sutton Coldfield

Address: Little Stables, Camp Rd, Sutton Coldfield, B75 5QX

Price: Adults £10, Children £5, Under 3’s FREE

Come along to a World Record Attempt for the most dogs sat in one area. Bring your dog along to enter the many dog shows, sit and relax in the sheltered areas, enjoy some family fun, hot food, beverages and indulge in a drink at the bar.

Tudor Weekend at Blakesley Hall

Address: Blakesley Hall, Blakesley Rd, Yardley, B25 8RN

Price: Adults £7, Children £3

Time: 11am – 4pm

All the fun of Tudor Times including; Tudor music and dancing, feather quill writing, Tudor travelling camp, sword fighting, costumed tours, performance of Shakespeares Richard III as well as battle scenes from Shakespeares Henry V.

Jurrasic Week, Dino Take Over at The Manor House Museum

Price: FREE Entry. Activities a small charge

Time: 11am – 3pm

Be joined by Pete the dinosaur and his Dino friends for a fun filled day of digging for fossils, hunting for bones and crazy crafts.

Sutton Coldfield Food Festival

Address: Sutton Coldfield Town Centre

Price: FREE Entry

Time: 11am – 4pm on 9th and 10th June

Over 100 food traders are joining the streets of Sutton Coldfield to do the first ever street food festival through the Town Centre.

Woodgate Valley Urban Farm Open Day

Address: Woodgate Valley Urban Farm, Clapgate Lane, B32 3DS

Time: 11am – 4pm

Come and see the Animal Man and Friends, magic shows, Punch and Judy, Kids musical workshop, children’s rides, bouncy castle, face painting and various stalls.

What the Ladybird Heard Live at Birmingham Hippodrome

I ran a competition to win tickets for this show (including entry into the Gardeners Live Show too). Winners announced tomorrow. Will you be going? If so, I’ll see you there. I’m off to review the event and check out how good it is.

Brindley Place Family Festival

Address: 2 Brunswick Street, B1 2JF

Price: FREE

Time: 9am – 6pm

The first ever BrindleyPlace family festival is arriving this June with a host of free activities. There’s some street dance workshops, magicians, penalty shoot out challenges with Birmingham City Football clubs mascot Beau Brummie. And you get to watch the Dragonboat race on the canal. All raising crucial funds for blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia.

Birmingham Wildlife Festival

Address: 1 Victoria Square, B4 6QS

Price: FREE

Hosted by Badger Trust West Midlands the largest Wildlife Event in the UK is back.

Speakers, musicians, a vast array of exhibitors all promoting British wildlife, will be lining Victoria Square. Explore and relax here with some great hot and cold vegan food stands catering for the event.

Mum2mum Market, King’s Heath Cricket Ground

Price: £2 each on the door or print off a BOGOF voucher online
