Toddler Splash and Play, Bloxwich Active Living Centre

Posted on 16/09/201816/09/2018

Event: Toddler Splash and Play

Location: Bloxwich Active Living Centre, High Street, Bloxwich

Times: Wednesday 9am – 12pm and Friday 10:30am – 1:30pm

Prices: Non-member £5 (admits one parent and toddler), direct debit members £2.50, Move It PAYG members £3.50, Family Membership FREE.

I saw this advertised earlier in the week on Facebook and decided I had to give it a try. A splash in the pool and a play in a hall sounded great for £5. And I have to admit, it did not disappoint.

We arrived at the leisure centre later than the start time of 9am (you can arrive whenever you want) and instead we got there just before 10:30am. We parked in one of the mother and baby spaces (right by the front of the centre) and headed into the building. We were greeted by a lovely lady on reception who told us all about the session and pointed us in the right direction.

We decided to start with the hall and headed off to see what was in there.

The Hall: Wiggle cars and balance bikes were the first things that Jemima spotted and wanted to have a go on.

There was also a large inflatable area, with a slide, two ball pools and a section which blew out air and you could balance balls on it (does this have a special name?).

There were tables in the hall filled with arts and crafts activities and the floor had various activities including hoops, balls, goal post, skittles and plenty of space to play them. Jemima really enjoyed the wiggle cars.

The Pool: We headed to the pool after about 40 minutes as Jemima was eager to go swimming. The changing rooms were lovely and clean and the family changing cubicles are fantastic. Baby changing facilities in them and also a chair you can strap a cheeky toddler into whilst you get dressed/undressed.

The pool was the warmest pool I’ve ever been into. Filled with toys including rubber ducks, boats, floats, beach balls, rings, sinking seals and watering cans. The floor was raised so toddlers could walk along the bottom if they wanted to. Or at least my two and a half year old could which she liked.

There’s no pictures from in the pool but I can vouch for how great it was.

Cafe: There’s a little coffee shop at the centre which has an array of food and drink choices. Plenty of healthy options too, all for a reasonable price.

Conclusion: We both had a fantastic time and all for just £5. A total bargain. So good in fact that we plan to go back next week. If you come with a pushchair, they have a buggy park you can use.
