“Wow-wee, This is one to see” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have to admit, having been born in 1984, The Osmonds were a little before my time so I was heading to see a musical I knew nothing about. But I was excited. Excited because what I did know, is that these were one of the most popular and talented bands ever AND Jay Osmond who wrote the show based on his and his families life was going to be there!
Did I get to meet him? Oh yes! And he was such a gentleman. Jay told me that when he was creating the Musical, him and his wife Karen lived in Chester, England for a year before moving back to the mountains in America. I managed to get a couple of selfies with them both and taught Karen how to add a timer to your phone for a selfie, so you don’t have to struggle trying to reach the button to take the picture.
I didn’t love the Osmonds before. But I do now.
The Musical takes you on a journey through the eyes of Jay Osmond, looking at the growth of his family as they started out and soon sold one hundred million records between them. We get to hear some of the iconic family tracks including Crazy Horses, Puppy Love and Love Me For A Reason. The talent on the stage last night was phenomenal. From the young cast who acted the roles of the band when they were children, to the adults who played the roles of The Osmonds when they had grown up. The energy, the drive, the charisma and the musical talent. I was sat in awe and admiration at the performances last night.
There was such a vibe in the Wolverhampton Grand auditorium; ladies singing, dancing, waving the lights on their phones like candles, shouting and screaming out to the cast. At some points I thought we might have some pants thrown onto the stage. It didn’t feel like I was at the theatre, I was at a gig by The Osmonds.
Whether you are an avid Osmonds fan or a complete novice like me, this is a show everyone will fall in love with. On at Wolverhampton Grand until Saturday, it is a must see and would make a perfect early Mother’s Day present.
