Yesterday we saw the cast of The Tiger Who Came To Tea. The live stage show is coming to Birmingham Town Hall on Boxing Day and will be at the Town Hall until Sunday 13th January 2019 with a number of performances. There’s a relaxed performance on Sunday 6th January 2019 at 3pm.
The Tiger Who Came To Tea is an Olivier Award nominated show and has recently been celebrating 50 years being Britain’s best-loved picture book.
With a running time of 55 minutes and aimed at children aged 3 and over, this is a perfect show choice to either end 2018 or start 2019. I’m sure tickets would make a perfect Christmas present.
To celebrate the show coming to Birmingham Town Hall, we had a fun filled afternoon doing all things tiger-ish including afternoon tea at the beautiful Edwardian Tea Rooms in Birmingham Museum (the Christmas roast inspired sandwich was delicious) and the Tiger definitely came to tea and joined us, which excited all of the children, especially my two who were ready with high 5s and giggles.
We then headed to a story session at Foyles book store where we met the cast again and got to hear them read the fantastic story – which left Matilda in hysterics. The cast were so friendly and welcoming and kept all of the childrens attention whilst listening to the story.
“Join the tea-guzzling tiger in this delightful family show; packed with oodles of magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos! A stunning stage adaptation of the classic tale of teatime mayhem… Expect to be surprised”.
We will be there after Christmas to review the show and will feedback to you all. Following our sneak preview, all four of us are looking forward to it and we have been enjoying hearing off people who have seen it before too.
If you would like to book tickets (from £9.50 each) for one of the 29 shows that are playing at the Town Hall, please do pop onto the website here: http://Tigerstealive.com
Quirky Fact: All actors who play the tiger have to be a minimum height of 6ft 4inches.
