A stage-show that rivals the quality of Disney with snowfall, magic and excellent puppetry (and lots more – but you’ll have to go and see it, I don’t want to spoil it all). It is my second time watching The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, which is a sign of an excellent show as I’m not one for seeing the same show twice. But, I can honestly say, I’d go and see it again for a third time too.

The nostalgia of being one of my favourite childhood books and the memories it brings back of me checking wardrobes, hoping that I’d one day find my own Narnia, almost brings goosebumps alone to my arms but the way it’s performed so brilliantly with phenomenal puppetry, superb acting and a cast that also doubles up as an orchestra between them just makes the whole production magical. This show is epic and it’s up there as one of our favourite theatre shows as a family.
For those unaware of the story, it’s a classic tale of courage, friendship and magic. Following four siblings evacuated from wartime London. The siblings, Lucy (Kudzai Mangombe), Edmund (Bunmi Osadolor), Susan (Joanna Adaran) and Peter (Jesse Dunbar) are evacuated to a country house owned by The Professor (Kraig Thornber) and his cat Schrodinger (Andrew Davison). A mysterious wardrobe is discovered… offering a doorway into Narnia: a magical land trapped in a never-ending winter by the White Witch (Katy Stephens) .

Narnia brings it’s own magic in the form of talking animals and mythical creatures and of course, the noble lion Aslan. As the children get caught in a battle of good and evil they learn about the power of hope, kindness, bravery and forgiveness.
It is a show filled to the brim of adventure and scenes of magic that make children (and adults) shout “WOW”.

If you’ve read the book and watched the film, come and discover the story all over again with this phenomenal stage version. Come with the family or with your mates for that touch of nostalgia. This is a show for everyone.
The production is at The Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham until 31 May 2025 and they have some tickets available as low as £20. Perfect for families over half-term.
