In a world bustling with endless possibilities, finding the perfect day out can sometimes feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Did you know that one of the websites that I use to find some of the events that we go to is called Skiddle.
With its user-friendly interface and comprehensive database of events, Skiddle takes the hassle out of planning and ensures that every outing is a memorable one.
Skiddle’s strength lies in its versatility. Whether you’re a music enthusiast, a foodie, a culture vulture (definitely me!), or an outdoor adventurer (also me!), Skiddle caters to every taste and interest.
From live concerts and festivals to food markets and art exhibitions, the platform boasts an extensive array of events to suit every mood and preference. With just a few clicks, users can explore a treasure trove of options, making it easy to find activities that match their unique interests and passions.
I particularly enjoy that you can search for events by city and they give detailed event listings, including essential information such as location, date, time, and ticket prices. You can even book your tickets through Skiddle, eliminating the need for multiple tabs or external websites (I currently have 58 tabs open on my phone for other things, so doing this on one tab really helps me).
Some of the events in 2024 that are tempting me are;
1) Sutton Coldfield Dining Club
The famous DDC Summer Tour lands at Sutton Coldfield Rugby Club on 11th May 2024 for another day of award winning street food, good vibes and good people!
2) Jurassic Gardens at Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Roar with excitement as The Gardens welcomes back the very popular Velociraptor, and for the first time, a towering T-Rex, and an armoured Ankylosaurus on 25th May 2024.
With a full itinerary of dinosaurs I know Matilda and Jemima are going to really enjoy this.
The daily dino schedule:
🌿 11am Meet and Greet: Ankylosaurus
🌿 12pm Dinosaur Show on the lawn
🌿 1pm Meet and Greet: Velociraptor
🌿 2pm Meet and Greet: T-Rex
🌿 3pm Dinosaur Show on the lawn
🌿 4pm Meet and Greet: Ankylosaurus
🌿 5pm Meet and Greet: Velociraptor
3. Burger Fest 2024
Oh yes! The Bond in Digbeth is the location for Burger Fest on 15th June 2024. With a delicious selection of burger traders to choose from, how will we choose!? The line-up includes some of the best traders from the West Midlands and beyond, including Zephyr Burgers, Baggio Burger, Meat Castles, What’s Your Beef, Stripclub Streetfood, Baked in Brick, Yardbirds and Good Boy Burgers!
4. BBQ Fest 2024
It seems I’m a huge fan of food. August 3rd will see BBQ Fest taking over the picturesque surroundings of The Bond in Digbeth, promising a day filled with savoury BBQ food, live music, lively DJs, and entertainment for the kids.
5. Close Up Comedy at Hockley Social Club
You can’t beat good food and good comedy and it seems Hockley Social Club have you covered every month. Four of the best stand ups in the country, plus street food and amazing drinks.
More details here for June’s comedy evening.
There’s also some events further afield across the UK that have taken my fancy, including;
1. Disney Party, Summer Family Funday at Ballin’ Maidstone
Expected to be the biggest Disney party the UK has seen to date! More characters, more fun and more memories! Sing & Dance to the magic of Disney! Meet & Greet Iconic Princesses! Enjoy & Play with some of your all time favourite characters!
Full Entertainment From More Than Mascots including Dance Routines, Wonderful Interaction, Photo Opportunities, Party Classics, Magic & More. All on the 11th August.
2. PARTY! PARTY! Halloween Boat party on the night itself
Party! Party! London’s best boat party returns this Halloween with fun and party vibes on the Thames on the night. I thought this sounded great fun for those in or near London.
3. The Bath Independent Market
Bath’s vibrant contemporary maker’s market sounds brilliant, plenty of local makers selling their goods nestled beneath the stunning glass roof of Green Park Station on the 19th May.
Take a peek at the website and let me know which one(s) you will be booking.
