Last night we headed over to the Scaremaze in Walsall which was one of our Buckt activities.
We had booked in for 7pm on the very first day of it opening. And I was both apprehensive and excited. I love being scared but equally I’m the type of person who has to know what’s going on. A little bit of a fear of the unknown.
We arrived just before 7pm and had a look around the courtyard and bar.
The exterior was very atmospheric. Screens of ghosts, moving, changing position. Water with smoke coming from it. A haunted Swan boat. Faces in the walls.
We sat down on one of the tables waiting for our time slot group of people to be called inside.
Mid conversation with my husband and suddenly a nun leaps in front of us screaming in my face. Then ran off towards the scare maze.
At this point I realised it was going to be a very interactive and immersive maze.
At 7:30pm we were called through (I’m pretty sure the delay was due to first night technicalities and hopefully not a regular thing, although there’s a bar to drink from and a little arcade centre to keep entertained in).
The scaremaze is full of 12 live actors and actresses. They’re determined to make you jump. Eager to hear you scream and without spoiling it (too much) for people going, be prepared to climb through tunnels, walk in the dark and feel your heart pound multiple times.
I’ve completed the scare mazes in Alton Towers and one in Blackpool and this one is by far my new favourite.
