Peppa Pig World (Paultons Park)

Posted on 01/05/201906/03/2022

After a good two years of being asked by Matilda if we could go, we finally decided it was time to head to Paultons Park with both girls. Hoping that they would both be tall enough to go on lots of the rides.

We didn’t need to worry. Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig World caters very well for young children. There were rides that even babies could go on and if you are able to sit up by yourself, you can practically go on all of the rides with a responsible adult.

So my two went on EVERYTHING in Peppa Pig World and even tried some of the rides in Paultons Park – sadly we ran out of time for everything though and we can now see why the two day pass is so widely advertised. For you to enjoy all of this park fully, you need two days or at least to come back another time to do the things which you have missed out on – which is exactly what we plan to do.

So what is in Peppa Pig Land?

Rides and Attractions:

Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight was Jemimas favourite and since returning to school, her lovely nursery teacher has told us that she has told her all about the ride.

The ride sees a family of up to four people, sat in a helicopter, moving like a ferris wheel looking out over the park. There’s no lower age limit to go on the ride, however if you want to go on minus an adult, you have to be 8 years old. This is the same for nearly all of the rides, I’ll mention if there’s any difference on other rides.

Windy Castle was the last ride that we went on in Peppa Pig Land. It is essentially tea cups in the air and is such a great idea.

Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride was a great looking ride in the centre of Peppa Pig World. The girls loved it and the queue was less than 5 minutes long. Even better!

A good ride to give you ample viewing across the park is The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride. You sit in a large carriage which travels around a track that is about 7/8 metres off of the ground. The girls shouted down to the people on the boats below. Which is the ride we next talk about…

Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club was one of my personal favourite rides. A gentle boat ride going by various Peppa Pig scenes which you could point out to the girls and the girls would tell a story about the scenes that we could see.

Eager for some good quality pictures of my husband and the girls, I sent them on Grandpa Pig’s Little Train by themselves as I ran around with the camera to take pictures. I love this one of the three of them. They looked like they had a great time going around the train track twice, pulled along by Grandpa Pig and his miniature locomotive. This ride children aged 4 and over can go on, minus an adult.

Grandpa Pig’s Boat Trip was the only ride to make me jump. It starts with a jolt and unprepared me may have shouted out a yelp. But once the initial jolt was over, it was a great ride. Slightly quicker than some of the other rides in the section. But still very child friendly and children aged 4 and over can go on by themselves.

Daddy Pig’s Car Ride saw the girls pretending to drive a car around a driving track with me and their Daddy in the back. It was colourful and a very visual ride. You really felt as if you were in the show yourself.

We managed to get a pink car. I did wonder why none of them were a red car. Which would have been perfect for a ride called Daddy Pigs Car Ride.

I’d seen George’s Dinosaur Adventure shared online before and this was one of the rides that I was most excited about. It was nice to see that the girls felt the same when they saw it.

I went on this ride with Jemima and Matilda went on the ride with her Daddy. Both girls loved it. As did us adults. Children 850mm have to sit on the front of the dinosaur with a responsible adult behind. Children 1.1m tall could ride alone on the rear seat.

Mr Potato’s Playground & Muddy Puddles is every parents dream. A play area suitable for even the littlest of legs. Matilda and Jemima had a field day in this section and were quite upset when we said we had to leave. It’s geared at children aged 0-6, years old.

Matilda has hypermobility and has to wear specially made footwear. Although it helps lots, it doesn’t prevent her from all accidents and at parks we always have to follow her around to help her up and down equipment to help prevent accidents. At Mr Potatos Playground I was able to stand back (slightly) and let her just explore, as the equipment was low down and safe for her.

Ever wondered what it looks like inside Peppa Pig’s House? Now you don’t have to. You get to have a walk inside the lounge of Peppa Pigs House and find out how Daddy Pig is getting on with making pancakes.

The girls were mega excited when they saw that the park had George’s Spaceship Play Zone an indoor soft play centre for all children. Jemima had her boots off before we had even got inside properly. And was zooming down the very fast and fun slides. Matilda was soon joining her. Don’t forget to take some socks with you if it’s a hot day and you’re wearing sandels as no socks = no playing.

As huge Peppa Pig fans (Matilda still enjoys watching the show with her little sister) we couldn’t turn down the opportunity to meet Peppa and George.

At set times you can head to Madame Gazelles School House to have your photo taken with Peppa and George. A professional photographer takes pics but they also offer to take pictures on your own cameras for you. Which I thought was great. Peppa and George were really friendly too. Matilda even got to hug George.

Shopping

This was where the girls were incredibly excited. A huge Peppa Pig shop with loads of Peppa Pig Memorabilia, soft cuddly toys of various Peppa Pig characters… Grandpa Pig, Daddy Pig, Candy Cat, Freddie Fox, Mr Potato, Gerald Giraffe … The list goes on. All the ones that you rarely see in other shops. I was personally disappointed to not find a Mummy Pig one. Surely she’s the best character? Ha.

Jemima chose to have a Peppa Pig umbrella (£7) and Matilda chose a George Pig (£7 – I think). There are loads of different things to choose from, pocket money gifts right up to lavish treats of unique Peppa Pig play sets and giant cuddly toys.

Eating and Drinking

So, we can’t really tell you anything about the food as we took a picnic with us and didn’t buy a single item of food to eat. We had an expensive Easter and with moving house in February, we are trying to cut costs where possible. However, there are three places you could choose to eat.

Daddy Pig’s Big Tummy Café that serves pizza slices, sandwiches, pastries and pasties, fresh bean to cup coffee, various hot and cold drinks and some ice creams.

The Queen’s Kitchen where you could get a hot dog, pizza, pasty and again, hot and cold drinks and ice creams.

Miss Rabbit’s Ice Cream Parlour with a variety of scooped and whippy ice creams and toppings. If you’re lucky they have some fresh donuts too.

Little Africa and Penguins

Within the Peppa Pig World section of Paultons Park you can find Little Africa a section where you can see Meerkats (Daily keeper talk and feed at 1:30pm), a Fennel Fox, Mongoose, African Porcupines and a variety of birds. It is really picturesque and a nice break from the excitement of the rides, to have a little chill out time.

At 12pm and 3:30pm you can head along to the Penguins section (by Miss Rabbits Helicopter Ride) and watch the Daily Keeper talks and feed of the cute Humboldt Penguins.

To the side of the Little Africa section, you can also walk along to see the Watermill and the Pelicans.

They are currently building another ride for this section called Wave Runner which is due to open from July 2019 suitable for people from 900mm tall. It looked like a giant slide with boats. My husband is looking forward to seeing this ride in action. I think I might just watch from the sidelines.

Toilets, Baby Change and Lockers

The park is very much geared up for families and children and as such all of the toilet cubicles had children’s seats to pull down and use. Which I thought was fantastic. No need for me to hang my child over the seat, she could sit on comfortably by herself. The facilities also included lower down sinks too! Baby changing and the toilets were both incredibly clean and tidy too. And for people with disabilities there’s an accessible changing place too – well done Paultons Park!

If you have young children and do not want to cart the change bag around or a picnic, there are various lockers that you can use. And if you run out of battery on your phone, taking so many videos and pictures of your little ones, their are phone charging stations (an extra charge applies).

After we had finished in Peppa Pig World we headed off to see what the rest of Paultons Park had for young children.

Paultons Park

On the way out of Peppa Pig world we found two rides to try. First up was the Viking Boats suitable for any age child with 4 year olds being able to ride alone if they wanted to.

We also went on the most beautiful Victorian Carousel. To go on here, children must be able to sit on a seat by themselves, so there’s no age limit other than the ability to be able to sit unaided. If children want to ride alone, they need to be at least 1.2m tall or aged 6.

We jumped onto the teacup on the carousel and as you can see from the girls smiles, they really enjoyed it.

Next up was Critter Creek where we all went on the Cat-O-Pillar. This is a roller-coaster suitable for children from 900mm tall. It looked like it was going to be very fast but it was very tame. I did still scream though. You can go on this ride by yourself when you are 7 years old.

There was another ride in the Critter Creek section and a Beastie Burrow (a real life bug emporium) although we didn’t try these. We did have a play on the Dandy-Lions though, where you turn handles to make some hands tickle some dandy-lions and make them giggle.

Critter Creek had a Cat-O-Pillar Kiosk where we could view our photo from the ride and we treated the girls to two Push Pop lollipops which came to £1.90 in total.

It was already gone 4pm at this point and the theme park was closing at 5pm so we moved as fast as we could over to Lost Kingdom a new dinosaur section in Paultons Park.

We jumped on board The Dinosaur Tour Company suitable from birth upwards (4 year olds can ride alone) and Matilda and Jemima drove us around the dinosaur track – watch out for those pesky dinosaurs, especially the ones who squirt water at you.

Next up was Boulder Dash a ride not suitable for under 12 months old and to ride alone you have to be 8 years old. It was good fun and I think me and Jemima definitely squealed on it as it spun us around.

Mr Trips had his eyes on a roller-coaster in this section and soon ran off to have a go on Flight of the Pterosaur. This is suitable for children aged 4 plus and you need to be at least a metre tall.

There’s lots more in this section including Dino Chase, Temple Heights, Velociraptor and Little Explorers’ Adventure Play Park. We plan to come back to have a go on these.

With only 15 minutes left until the park closed, we jumped on the Sky Swinger which is suitable for all children over 1m tall. I have to admit I really squealed on this one. As Matilda and Mr Trips laughed at me from the seats behind, and Jemima clung onto me. Or was I clinging on to her? It was a fun ride and definitely needs to be added onto your list of rides to go on.

With 7 minutes left we ran over to Seal Falls, a young children’s version of a log flume and the girls had a go on that.

We still had a further 20 plus things to see and do but we ran out of time. We had hoped to fit in the Show Street 4d Cinema for an undersea 4d adventure, so will have to add that to the list of things to do, next time we go. There’s also two splash pads so do bring your swimming costumes and towels for those hotter days.

This really is a great theme park to come to with children aged 8 and under. There’s loads for them to go on. And all of the rides are in with the cost of your entry.

In May 2020 a brand new section called Tornado Springs is due to open. A mid-west experience where you get to travel a route of adventure in a charming desert resort town.

Join the storm chasers and revel in their quest to capture the perfect storm. Tame the wild river and take an exhilarating ride down the breath-taking Buffalo Falls.

And lots more!

Will we need 3 days to enjoy the whole of the park when this arrives?

I think I’ve covered everything from our trip. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Top Tip: Arrive for when the park opens to get as much fitted in as you can.
