Location: Orchard Hills Bakery, 6 Rookery Lane, Aldridge.
Opening Times: 9am – 2pm, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays
This morning me and Jemima headed over to Aldridge to see Station Road (see previous post) and decided to have a look around the village after.
We were walking to the park when we spotted Orchard Hill Bakery, it looked lovely and as I pushed Jemima on the swing, I decided I had to go in and see the delights on the counter after the park fun Jemima was having.
As we walked into the bakery we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming Michelle. Michelle told me they had opened the bakery on Saturday and explained they were a social enterprise with them wanting to help the community as much as possible. Even more of a reason to shop at this bakery. Your money isn’t just buying you yummy food, but any money after company outgoings, is being invested back into the community, helping people who are vulnerable and in need.
Dave was just as friendly as Michelle and he offered Jemima and me some sourdough bread to try. It was delicious. Jemima even gave up her pick and mix sweets to finish off eating her bread. If that’s not a good advertisement, I’m not sure what is. Ha.
We ended up purchasing some sourdough bread and a milk chocolate oaty biscuit which was AMAZING. So good I’ve actually contemplated going back tomorrow to get another.
All food is baked in the shop, freshly made by the loving hands of Michelle and Dave.
There’s an array of bread with a few choices of cakes too.
Please pop along and support this local independent business. A nicer couple couldn’t have opened this together. They deserve many years of happiness and success in this building.
Just look at Jemimas happy face with her sourdough bread.
