Last week we attended the very first One Day Theatre, 0-5’s Christmas Party at Boston Tea Party in Harborne and it was a great success. Fully booked with not a single space free, we were glad that we had booked onto this class earlier in December when it was announced.
The party class was only £5 which was a bargain. And it also had a 50% discount for siblings. There are not many Christmas party classes that only charge £5 and this one even included a free balloon and goody bag (which had some amazing handmade all natural teethers for the little ones inside).
The session was fantastic and saw us singing, dancing, playing instruments, games, laughing and lots more. The session followed lots from the EYFS and Jemima came away knowing some sign language along with some new Christmas songs. Amazing for a 2 year old.
One Day Theatre are a new theatre company to the Birmingham scene, only starting in September of this year, but already, only 3 months in and they now have waiting lists for some of the classes. I’m not surprised as the quality of the sessions is brilliant. Such great value for money.
All of the sessions are run by a trained actress (and owner of the company) who has been in movies and on the stage, full of experience, energy and dedication to her role.
There’s a class for every age group from babies to adults. Jemima attends Tiny Dancers for ages 0 – 5. Review of our sessions here: https://smallhousebigtrips.co.uk/tiny-dancers-by-oneday-theatre/
And I attend Sass class aimed at those aged 16 and above (so far the members are in their teens, thirties and forties). Review of my first time at Sass Class here: https://smallhousebigtrips.co.uk/sass-class/. It is so much fun, a chance to learn a dance routine, socialise and do a little bit of exercise. 90 minutes of fun for £5.
There are theatre school classes for 4-16 year olds too (https://smallhousebigtrips.co.uk/theatre-minis-by-one-day-theatre/) , check out the times, dates and fees on the One Day Theatre Website (https://www.onedaytheatre.org/) or by messaging Megan at hello@onedaytheatre.org
The new term starts in January. I’d book on quickly as for some classes you’ll be joining a waiting list.
I think this is a theatre company that will be expanding quite a bit during 2019.
