2. Reginas
This new Mediterranean restaurant and bar, is set to open in Birmingham in January 2025, bringing a touch of elegance to Newhall Street in the Colmore Business District. Taking over the former site of Purnell’s Bistro, Regina’s will feature a sophisticated interior with bespoke lighting and a stunning red rose sculpture crafted from metal mesh, symbolising beauty and strength.
The menu will highlight Mediterranean-inspired dishes made from the freshest ingredients, including handmade pasta, complemented by a full bar offering expertly crafted cocktails and fine wines. Created by the team behind the acclaimed Noel’s Bar & Restaurant, Regina’s aims to provide a regal dining experience blending luxury with exceptional culinary artistry.
3. Kynd
Set to open at Hampton Manor in February 2025, Kynd promises a creative dining experience crafted by chef David Taylor, currently of the Michelin-starred Grace & Savour. The restaurant will take over the space previously occupied by Smoke, bringing an innovative approach to fine dining. Kynd is anticipated to build on Hampton Manor’s reputation for exceptional cuisine, blending artistry with sustainable practices to create memorable dishes that captivate food enthusiasts.
4. Gail’s Bakery
Gail’s Bakery is finally arriving in Birmingham, bringing its signature artisanal breads, pastries, and café experience to the city in 2025. 5. McArthur Glen East Midlands: New Food Court
A new multi-million pound food court development has been revealed for the East Midlands branch of McArthur Glen. Expect an array of restaurants that will occupy the new dining destination, scheduled to reopen in Spring 2025.
Hotel Openings
1. The Belfry
Expected to be completed in 2025, The Belfry will have a new Masters Suite (852 sqm), which can host up to 920 guests, with panoramic views of the Brabazon golf course due to open in September 2025.
In addition to the Masters Suite, the development will feature 149 new bedrooms, a brand new Leisure Club with a large pool with a family slide, hot tubs, and a gym that is due to open in the summer.
2. The Dean Hotel
Exciting things are happening on Corporation Street as The Dean Hotel prepares to open its doors in July 2025.
Taking over the iconic Central Methodist Hall, this Grade II* listed building is getting a glamorous makeover while preserving its stunning historic features.
Expect 150 boutique-style rooms, a show-stopping rooftop restaurant with citywide views, and eight lively dining and bar spaces to explore. Big news for the Cotswolds and Worcestershire! The creative mind behind Next, George at Asda, and Per Una is set to open a stunning 10-bedroom boutique hotel in Broadway in spring 2025.
Housed in a beautifully restored former doctor’s surgery, this luxury getaway will offer a unique accommodation option for visitors to the area. 1. Boxpark
Exciting news for Digbeth with this one. Boxpark, a hub for food, drink, and entertainment, is opening its first Midlands location in Birmingham in 2025. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, Boxpark combines street food from independent traders, stylish bars, and live events all under one roof. Set to transform the historic Floodgate Street Arches, the venue will span 17,000 square feet and feature ten kitchen units, four indoor bars, and over 10,500 square feet of outdoor space for al fresco dining and events.
This £5 million development is going to be more than just a place to grab a bite to eat, it’s going to be a celebration of Birmingham’s creative spirit. Thrill-seekers and racing fans in Birmingham can get excited, K1 Speed is gearing up to open its doors at Star City in March 2025! Known globally for its high-performance, eco-friendly electric go-karts, K1 Speed offers an exhilarating indoor racing experience that’s perfect for both seasoned drivers and first-timers. 3. Low Places Bar, Digbeth

5. Chubb Cinema Wolverhampton
Big news for Wolverhampton film fans! The historic Grade II-listed Chubb Building is about to undergo a fabulous transformation. Work will begin to convert the outdated two-screen cinema into a modern four-screen venue, run by PDJ – a company known for its charming independent cinemas, including The Dome in Worthing and The Majestic in Kings Lynn. Set to open in late spring 2025, this newly refurbished cinema will blend its rich history with a fresh, contemporary vibe.
With space for up to 130,000 visitors a year, the Chubb Cinema is expected to bring a big boost to Wolverhampton’s city centre, adding jobs and pumping half a million pounds into the local economy annually. 6. Society
Big news for foodies and socialites in Birmingham! In February 2025, Society, the much-loved independent food and drink hub from Manchester, is opening its doors at One Colmore Square. This exciting new venue will bring together five top-notch street food traders, a stunning 36-line craft beer bar, cocktail and coffee options, and a vibe that effortlessly transitions from daytime dining to evening DJ sets.
Set in a spacious 9,000 sq ft venue with room for over 350 guests, Society Birmingham promises a beautifully designed social space featuring an open-plan dining area, an outdoor terrace, and curated playlists. Expect incredible drinks, mouthwatering bites, and a laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere – right in the heart of the city’s buzzing business district.

- Lichfield Leisure Centre
A new leisure centre will be opening at Stychbrook Park in Autumn 2025.
The new leisure centre will feature a range of modern facilities designed to cater to diverse needs. Highlights include a welcoming reception area and a new 25-metre, six-lane variable depth swimming pool, complete with poolside seating and a state-of-the-art changing village. Fitness enthusiasts will benefit from an 80-station gym, equipped with an assessment room and storage for equipment, as well as dedicated spin and dance studios. Community engagement is supported by a multipurpose room, while outdoor facilities include a new 3G pitch and accompanying outdoor changing rooms, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive recreational experience for all visitors.
