Playing at The Core Theatre, Solihull until Saturday 18th June 2022 is Made in Dagenham, performed by the incredibly talented Queensbridge Musical Theatre Society.
I headed along on Tuesday evening to see what the show was all about and I have to admit, having not previously watched an Amateur Dramatics production I feared it may not be up to the standard of the professional productions I have seen; how wrong was I! Those fears were totally unfounded. This show was absolutely superb and had a very strong 4 star award from me.
For those who are unaware of the story line of Made in Dagenham, it is about a group of working class women in 1968, employed in the sewing factory for Ford’s Dagenham car plant who decide to fight for equal pay after having their pay grade dropped to an unskilled workers level.
It is a story of courage, of strength and of community spirit. With plenty of giggles and some moments to bring a tear to your eye. This show really touches your emotions.
The acting and singing is tremendous. With the whole cast giving a superb performance. Great acting, choreography and some vocals to die for.
The stage design was well thought out. A two story house that could then be converted into two separate factories. I wasn’t expecting such a great set and was really impressed by this.
This is a show everyone should get tickets to see.
Queensbridge Musical Theatre Society, you were amazing!
