This evening, we got to step into the wild world of Madagascar The Musical at The Alexandra Theatre, where the beloved characters from the hit movie came to life in a family aimed musical adventure!
From now until March 17th, families can embark on a journey with Alex the lion (Joseph Hewlett), Marty the zebra (Francisco Gomes), Melman the giraffe (Joshua Oakes-Rogers), and Gloria the hippo (Jarnéia Richard-Noel) as they escape from the Central Park Zoo and find themselves on the adventure where city animals find themselves discovering what it is like living in the wild. Is the grass greener?
With tickets starting at just £13, it’s the perfect opportunity to introduce your little ones to the magic of live theatre. From the moment the show starts, my girls were captivated by the colourful staging, lively music, and animal costumes that saw their favourite characters come to life on stage.
Get ready to sing, dance, and clap along to catchy tunes like “I Like to Move It” and “The King of New York.” There’s plenty of opportunities for audience participation, whether it’s tapping your feet, clapping your legs or having a little sing-along. Madagascar The Musical is not just a show – it’s an interactive experience that will have the whole family stood up at the end, smiling from ear to ear.
From the perspective of the girls, it’s a definite 5-star performance (or 10-stars for Matilda) that had them both excitedly talking about the show all the way home. And for the adults? Well, let’s just say it’s a solid 4 stars – because who can resist the infectious energy and joy of seeing their little ones’ faces light up with delight?
Don’t miss your chance to join the adventure and create unforgettable memories with your family at Madagascar The Musical.
No under 3s permitted.
There’s a relaxed performance on Sunday 17th March at 3pm. You can download a visual story online, to help you prepare ahead of your visit.
The show is 1h45 minutes long with an interval.
