On Sunday we decided to pop on board the Floating Coffee Company barge for a bite to eat.
Moored up at Brindley Place, ‘George’ offers a chance to grab a bite to eat or a drink on board the moored barge. Everything from a tea and scone, to soup, to a breakfast, main meal or just a cake or ice cream. There’s a decent menu on board, with a children’s menu too. You can even just pop on board for a drink, no need to eat.
So it seemed the perfect place to stop with the girls.
Matilda chose a snack box (£4.95) which included a cheese sandwich, hula hoops, penguin bar, ice cream tub and an apple juice carton.
Jemima chose Sausage, Chips and Beans (£4.00) which came with an apple juice carton too.
Me and hubby both had an all day breakfast (£7.25) which comes with 2 Bacon, 2 Sausage, Egg, Beans, Toast and either tea, coffee, orange juice or apple juice.
The waitresses were friendly and efficient. They served us not long after sitting at the table and our food arrived quite quickly after that. Which is great when you have kids.
The girls loved standing on their chairs to look out of the window at the barges going by, waving at the people on the water bus. And they enjoyed the gentle rocking of the barge as people got on and off.
Overall we were really happy with this lunch. A nice setting, good service and we paid less than £25 for the four of us to have lunch with drinks. The food was standard cafe food, but that was perfect for what we wanted.
