Wanted to grow your own herbs but think you don’t have the space? Maybe you don’t have a garden and live in a flat?
Now you can grow tomatoes, peppers, herbs…. All from the comfort of your own kitchen.
We were kindly gifted a Gro Fresh Herb Garden in return for an honest review. Most of my reviews are completed within a fortnight, but this was a different type of review. I had to wait for herbs to grow and that doesn’t happen in a two week period. So this machine has been with me for a while.
When the box arrived, it stayed on the front table for a week or so until I knew I’d have the time to sit and read the instructions properly and put it together.
When I finally got round to doing this, it surprised me how quickly and how easy it was to set up. I usually bug my husband to help me set things up, but I was quite capable of doing this by myself with no assistance.
We decided to grow a variety of different mints. And as the weeks went by, we didn’t need to re-water the unit at all (you add water when you set it up).
It was fantastic being able to have fresh mint whenever I wanted. I placed it into drinks, as an accompaniment to meals and also made some homemade mint sauce.
What’s even better is that before the incredibly hot weather hit the UK, I actually managed to keep them alive… With nothing other than watching them (as the machine does it all itself). This is quite a feat for me, who never has a plant live longer than a week indoors, let alone a delicate herb.
This was our end product:
Sadly the hot weather didn’t help the mint and we had to let it go.
But we are excited about what we can plant next and are planning on parsley, coriander and tomatoes.
I’ll update you all with how they get on.
But I’d recommend checking out the website and seeing if one of these units would suit your house too. What would you plant?
