PYO Dahlia Field in the Midlands

Posted on 17/08/2024

Did you know that you can pick your own dahlias right here in the Midlands?

Webbs of Wychbold have opened up their PYO Dahlia Flora Fields, and they are absolutely stunning! Walk around the field, choosing your dahlias to make a bouquet.

Play garden games, enjoy a picnic and have family photos by the vintage pink tractor and gorgeous display of flowers.

The experience lasts 2 hours and was the brain-child of Webbs Garden Centres co-owner, Louise Webbs and her passion for freshly cut flowers from her own garden. Louise has fond memories of pottering in the garden with her daughter Flora gathering tulips, alliums, peonies, sweet peas and dahlias with which to sweetly scent their home. The joy of these memories sparked the concept of Flora Fields and a desire to offer families the same experience on a larger scale.

And with a spectacular display of 52 varieties of dahlias in a stunning array of colours, Louise has definitely achieved this. My only issue was they all look so beautiful, you feel a little bad cutting them 🤣.

It’s the most stunning way to spend an afternoon.

The experience includes;

– PYO bouquet (choose from Centrepiece with 20 stems or Showstopper with 80 stems and a bucket). Alternatively you can purchase entry only tickets.
– Chill out tipis to relax in and free access to The Riverside Gardens
– Gorgeous photo opportunities with the Dahlia field providing a picturesque backdrop for snaps and a bright pink vintage tractor for children to pose on (and grown adults too, as my mum demonstrated).

Special extras include;

– Takeaway picnics, prosecco and cream teas for pre-purchase
– Luxury horse trailer available for private hire with food and beverage (up to 6 people)
– Professional photography shoots with portrait photographer, Laura Truby. Choose from a 15 minute mini shoot or a full hour portrait shoot.
– Flora masterclass to learn the art of Dahlia bouquet wreath or centrepiece creation. Masterclasses will be delivered by Anna Brian from Anna of Flowers by Anna and Hannah of Bride and Bloom. All masterclasses include a welcome glass of Fizz, expert demonstration and guidance, materials and your finished bouquet, wreath or centrepiece to take home.

Details:

The Flora Field is open from 10am to 4pm, Friday to Sunday.
