Last week we headed over to the Fairy Trail in Aldridge. For those who haven’t heard of the trail, it’s hidden in the enchanted woodland alongside Bourne Pool. This is where you will find a magical world of Fairies, Unicorns, Mermaids, Gnomes and Trolls. Every time we go, we manage to find new scenery and more things to get excited over. The girls really enjoy coming here.

Come along one of the days and visit the Wishing Tree where you can write a note and hang it on the tree, the Unicorn Harbour, The Netherworld Home For Naughty GNOMES, Fairylawns Hotel, Silver Birch Castle or even go to the Fairy Circus. And that’s not all, there’s lots more to see. Be sure to check the trees.

It is set in a beautiful location next to Bourne Pool and the garden centre encourage you to bring a picnic. You can feed the ducks and fish (you can buy food from the garden centre), run around the grass maze or play hopscotch.

And if you enjoy it that much that you decide to make your own in your garden, there is a fairy shop where fairy homes and accessories are for sale so that you can create your very own enchanted Fairy Garden.

New this year is also the Waterside Cafe, serving the most delicious selection of cakes, alongside traditional British lunches and breakfasts. Do pop in and treat yourself to something. Jemima chose herself a cupcake which she ate all up.

I had a nice banoffee pie.

A perfect location to visit over the school holidays for some free fun. You could even combine it with a trip to Oak Tree Farm (5 minute drive down the road) for a completely free day out.
