Easter in the Midlands is bigger than ever! Whether it’s more events popping up each year or we’re just getting better at finding them, one thing’s for sure – there’s LOADS happening!

This is your ultimate guide to Easter events for families in and around the Midlands, updated daily. Keep checking back so you don’t miss out! We have a list of nearly 100 to upload.

The events are organised into 4 categories. Full days out, a half day out (morning or afternoon), one-off events, and a whole section for FREE events!

Full Days Out

1. The Mystery of the Golden Eggs

Location: The Heights of Abraham

Event: Lady Lettuce, the infamous Matlock Bath geologist and explorer, has been investigating some unusual geological activity on Masson Hill…. Suddenly, the ground shakes, and from it emerges mysterious looking golden eggs across the Heights of Abaraham estate. You are invited to find all the eggs, solve the mystery, and win your treasured geologists medal, presented by Lady Lettuce herself!

2. Time Travel Rescue

3. Easter Wonderland Trail

Take part in Middleton Hall’s Alice in Wonderland themed Easter Trail.

Craft workshops, lawn games and a trail with different clues to find along the way.

The trail is aimed at children up to the age of 12 (smaller children may need a hand from their adults), but older visitors can join the fun too.

The trail is located outside, all on ground level, with minimal steps, although some surfaces will be a bit uneven.

4. Celebrating 75 years this Easter

5. Easter at Warwick Castle

6. Alice in Easterland

There’s a number of events happening at Birmingham Botanical Gardens over Easter.

Event 1: The White Rabbit’s (self-led) Botanical Trail: Feeling adventurous? Follow the White Rabbit’s Botanical Trail and see what you can find.
Enjoy a self-guided exploration through the Gardens, filled with riddles, curious facts, and nature’s hidden secrets. 12th to 27th April, 10am to 5pm.

Oh dear, oh dear! The White Rabbit is terribly late…again! He needs your help to uncover clues and set things right. Solve each challenge, explore the gardens, and earn a delicious chocolatey reward at the finish!

The trail is recommended for children aged 6 and older. Little ones are also welcome to participate, but please note that the activity sheet will include written instructions – so have a grownup on hand to help.

Please note: trails are an additional £2 and can be picked up from the Welcome Desk on arrival.

Event 2: Alice’s Easterland Adventure – A Magical Family Easter Event. 17th to 20th April. 10am to 5pm. 

A curious & whimsical Easter experience for all ages. Enter a world where rabbits wear waistcoats, time runs backwards, and a Mad Hatter’s tea party awaits! Families will love this enchanting outdoor adventure, blending storybook magic with the beauty of nature.

Event 3: Gardens Art Club: Alice’s Botanical Hats

Let your imagination run wild and create a botanical Alice-inspired hat to wear at our wonderland garden parade. Be inspired by caterpillars, mushrooms and roses… or even the cheshire cat!

This drop-in activity is perfect for 4 to 12 year olds, but adults are encouraged to join in on the fun, too. The facilitators will tailor the experience to suit different age groups and abilities, ensuring that everyone can participate and create something truly special.

Event 4: Animal Handling Sessions

22nd and 24th April 2025, at 11am, 12pm and 2pm.

Learn all about the animals that make their home at the Gardens.
Join the team in the Rainforest room for an exciting and interactive session with live animals.

Teach your little ones all about how to handle and look after a selection of furry (or scaly) friends.

For ages 3+.

7. EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA
12th – 27th April 2025

Event: Hop into the Easter festivities at West Midlands Safari Park’s Easter Eggstravaganza.

Join the egg hunts, meet Bramble Bunny and enjoy a range of themed activities for the whole family. You’re sure to have an egg-citing time.

8. Wild Wonders

Event: Head to Thinktank and enjoy the Wild Wonders live theatre show, LEGO creature sessions, planetarium shows throughout the Easter Holidays (weekdays) and celebrate Earth Day on Tuesday 22nd April as Eko’, a 13-foot-tall Sea Giant Puppet and 5 world-class performers perform live shows.

9. Eggberts Easter Trail

Event: Can you find all of Eggbert’s friends hiding around the park?

Children will be given an activity card to help them find Eggbert’s friends that are sneakily hidden around the park. You will have some great fun and adventures whilst you explore the park looking for the hidden characters.

To complete the card, you just need to draw a line from the area listed on the activity card to the correct picture of Eggbert’s friends. Once completed, head over to Pumpkin Patch Cafe to receive your free chocolatey treat.

Don’t worry if you haven’t found them all, as it’s Easter the lovely workers know everyone deserves chocolate, all children will still get their reward.

10. Easter at Churchfields

12. Easter Eggstravaganza

Event: Hop into Easter fun at the Adventure Farm! 11th – 25th April.

Jump aboard the Easter Eggspress tractor and trailer ride and journey to Bunny Woods, where you’ll meet the brand-new friendly woodland characters. Enjoy fun and interactive Easter-themed shows on the main stage, get up close with adorable springtime baby animals, and take part in lamb feeding and lambing live!

13. Easter Egg-venture

14. Easter Spectacular

Event: Get ready for a day of springtime fun at Hatton Adventure World. The farm will soon be packed with adorable baby animals – piglets, lambs, and goat kids – all waiting to meet you in our Spring Arrivals Marquee, where you can enjoy animal handling sessions and baby animal talks. You might even be lucky enough to witness a birth!

Come rain or shine, there’s so much to enjoy. Get up close to the baby animals, be entertained by the magic and puppet shows in the family theatre, or cuddle a guinea pig in Guinea Pig Village. Explore Scales & Tails to meet lizards and snakes, and watch the majestic birds of prey in action during the Falconry Shows. 16. Black Country Living Museum

Hands-on family fun where you can step back in time and try your hand at traditional springtime crafts and activities. Experience historical delights such as flower pressing, spring cleaning, and gardening, or get creative with spring flower paper crafts.

Join them in preparing a 1950s baby’s pram for the Spring Pram Event! If you’re bringing your own pram, why not decorate it with Easter-themed bunting and flowers? Then, head over to the Infant Welfare Centre and take part in the delightful pram parade.

Bostin’ Easter treats to satisfy your taste buds with classic Easter goodies! The timeless pleasure of hot cross buns, a must-have treat for any springtime celebration. Looking for something different? Try the battered scotch eggs – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfect for a picnic in the park.

Immerse yourself in history with a range of interactive experiences. Attend an Edwardian school lesson, venture underground to experience the life of an 1850s miner, hop on a vintage bus, and watch live metalworking demonstrations.

Don’t forget they also have;

1950s Fairground: Experience the thrill of the sonic jets, play vintage fairground games, and take a spine-tingling ride on the ghost train.

1940s-1960s Town: Step onto a mid-20th-century high street, listen to vinyl records in the 1950s music shop, and browse timeless styles at the Army and Navy Store.

18. Shaun the Sheep, Find the Flock Trail

Event: Follow the trail to discover 12 supersized colourful Shaun the Sheep sculptures, painted by local and regional artists this spring.

In collaboration with Wild in Art and Aardman, the Find the Flock trail promises fun for all the family. Each Shaun the Sheep sculpture, standing tall at 160cm, will be positioned in locations around Trentham Gardens. The flock has been painted with bright colours and funky, bold patterns!

Don’t forget to pick up a free activity pack at the Visitor Centre, and embaa-rk on a journey through art and adventure around the gardens, learning more about the artists as you go!

A morning/afternoon out

1. We’re Going On An Easter Egg Hunt

Location: Selly Manor, Maple Road, Bournville, B30 2AE

Event: Hop on down to Selly Manor for some eggcellent family fun this Easter. Delve into the deep dark wood, put Humpty Dumpty back together again, and discover lots more as you search the grounds for giant eggs themed around the best loved children’s books. Get creative in their medieval hall where you can make and take home some Easter themed crafts and have lots of fun with the spring discovery station and under 5’s play zone.

This event takes place between 14th April to the 23rd April, daily from 10am to 4pm.

2. Spring Scavenger Hunt

Location: Newlands Bishop Farm, Berry Hall Lane, Solihull, B912RY

Event: From the 5th April to the 25th April. Celebrate the arrival of spring with an exciting Spring Scavenger Hunt at
Newlands Bishop Farm!

Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day of adventures, mini-games, and treasure hunts. Embark on an exciting journey to find wooden eggs with hidden letters scattered throughout the animal walkway. With games and challenges for all ages, there’s something for everyone:

3. Easter Egg Hunt Down on the Farm

Location: Canalside Farm,

Event: Head to Canalside Farm for an Easter Egg Hunt. Collect your Egg Hunt Pack from the farm shop when you arrive, then head out to the farm for the hunt.  Find the giant eggs & answer the questions at each station.

Once you have answered all of the Easter themed questions on the trail, head back to the farm shop to collect your prize (prize is for the children only).

Choose between the AM slot 10am-12pm or the PM time slot which runs from 1pm-4pm. You can arrive anytime within your time slot but you must have finished your experience by the end of the time slot (either 12pm or 4pm).

One-off Easter sessions

1. Easter Science Workshop

Location: Shenstone Village Hall, Barnes Road, Shenstone, Lichfield, WS14 OLT

Event: Want to ignite your child’s curiosity and love for science? Join Youth Evolution and their egg-citing Easter workshop, where they will launch egg rockets, create Easter slime, explore bubbly acid-base reactions, test if eggs can hold the weight of a human and lots more!

2. Easter Chocolate Making Workshops

Location: The Chocolate Shed, Yew Tree Farm Craft Centre, Wootton Wawen, B95 6BY

Date/time: 12th, 15th, 17th April at 2:30pm

Event: Chocolate making workshops located in a Warwickshire chocolaterie. Those attending (both children and adults) will have the opportunity to try their hand (and sticky fingers!) at using chocolate to make some marvellously delicious chocolate Easter creations. 

At the end of the workshop, all budding mini (and grown-up) chocolatiers will take home their delicious chocolate-y masterpieces to enjoy. Theres 3 worshops with spaces available, but be quick to book.

3. Easter Egg-stravaganza

FREE Events

1. Easter Art Explorer

Location: Ikon Gallery

Date/time: 15th April and 22nd April, 11am-3pm

Event: Join the wonderful people at Ikon Gallery for fun creative trails through Ikon’s exhibitions.

This interactive experience encourages families and younger visitors to explore art and ideas together. Use your detective skills to discover new artworks and investigate details throughout the exhibition while enjoying creative activities.

2. Easter Holiday Stick Man Trail

Location: National Memorial Arboretum

Event: Join the National Memorial Arboretun during the Easter holidays (14th-18th
April) for FREE indoor and outdoor Stick Man themed activities.

✔️ Stick Man outdoor trail – help Stick Man on his journey back to the family tree and meet five carved characters and lots of activities along the way.

✔️ Stick Man Indoor Screenings (11am -3pm) – the Stick Man adaptation will be shown throughout the day in the Remembrance Centre.

✔️ Stick Man arts and crafts (12pm -3pm) – Take part in FREE drop-in sessions to make Stick Man-themed crafts to take home.

✔️ Music making – using natural resources and instruments from around the world, you’ll create a song of spring to echo natures call in this musical session.

Spaces are limited for Stick Man screenings and music-making sessions, so make sure to book online to get your preferred time slot.

Stick Man trail map at the Welcome Desk when you arrive.
