After school today, I picked Matilda up and we headed to the park to have a play before picking Jemima up from nursery.
I’d never been to Doe Bank Park before, even though it is practically on my doorstep. And I was pleasantly surprised.
The views over the fields and bit of countryside were lovely.
The park had a Bluebell walk which I thought was pretty. But we couldn’t spend long looking as Matilda was eager to find the play area.
Once we located it (nice and easy, just the other side of the field from where you park), Matilda ran inside and started playing.
It was nice to see so much for her to play on.
Swings, two roundabout things, two climbing frames with slides, a climbing pyramid and a weird looking seesaw. Matilda played for a good 30 minutes, laughing and enjoying herself.
Behind the play area was a multi-use games area. Some children were playing football in there.
The park has a field bmx track for kids to play on and there’s also an outdoor gym equipment section.
Lots of picnic benches and green spaces to have a picnic.
This park was a pleasant surprise and we will be going back again very soon.
