Event: Disney on Ice, Worlds of Enchantment Tour
Location : Genting Arena, Birmingham
Price: From £20.16 to £48.16
Last week we went to see Disney On Ice with our girls, Matilda and Jemima. We arrived at The Genting Arena an hour early and stood outside the building in the biggest queue I have ever seen, over looking Resorts World. Hamleys had sent out a giant bear to entertain the children by waving at them and posing for pictures. Matilda ran straight up for a hi-5. Jemima stood shaking her head at him, saying “No”.
When we finally got inside the arena, we let the girls choose some rainbow snow cones to drink from in specially designed Disney Cups. Matilda chose a blue frozen cup and Jemima chose a pink Ariel cup. In hindsight I’d only recommend getting these if your little ones don’t make too much mess. Mine like to get messy, so I ended up wiping up a lot of it.
We headed to our seats which were on the front row with a great view of the stage.
This tour connects both new Disney Stories with some of the old classics such as The Little Mermaid. There are four different settings, the first, which was my favourite, was the Toy Story 3 section, based in Andys bedroom. The toys all came to life and me and the girls were mesmerised during this bit. Ken and Barbie did some fantastic dancing on the ice, followed by the toy soldiers who were great and had me intently watching. Especially when one of the soldiers was flown down onto the stage from a ‘parachute’.
Slink was done really well and I also loved quite a few of the other characters. The girls stood up and danced lots to this section. All happy and excited.
The next section was The Little Mermaid which was an elegant but quite short part.
The interval. Lasted about 20 minutes where you could purchase drinks and snacks and nip to the loo.
The second half opened with Disney Pixars, Cars. Where we saw real life sized cars zooming all over the ice. This was Matildas favourite although she did jump a few time when the cars let out a few bangs.
Last of all was the Frozen section. I would love to review this but unfortunately my 2 year old wouldn’t sit still at this point, so we listened to “For The First Time In Forever” and then headed out to walk around the Genting Arena looking at all of the stands.
The show was great and will appeal to boys and girls and the young and old. A great family trip out. I would probably advise little ones are 3 and above. It was a bit too much for my 2 year old who didn’t want to sit still and instead wanted to just dance EVERYWHERE – even after the stewards told her to sit back down 🙈.
That aside, we all had a lovely time and I hope to go back again next year.

Wow it sounds great! My three would love it, I will wait until my twins are a little older though as they have only just turned two. We love Disney! Glad you had a great time. X
