There’s nothing like starting the new year with resolutions about your health and wellbeing. Usually, we think about eating healthier or exercising more. But what about decluttering your house? Making a space that feels less claustrophobic and more tranquil. A space that you’re happy to spend time within during 2024.
We have had a think of ways to achieve this;
First up, what items do you no longer use? Ones that you have no attachment to and are happy to sell. You could place these on selling sites such as Vinted, Ebay or even Facebook Marketplace.
Don’t have the time or inclination to sell the items that you no longer need? Then why not take them to your local Charity shop. Our personal favourites in Birmingham are St Giles and Acorns Charity Shops.
What about the items that you have that you don’t use but can’t bring yourself to sell? Maybe you think you will use it in the future or it was given to you by someone special and you can’t bring yourself to let go of it. For me, it’s all of the girls’ cuddly soft toys.
Have you considered placing them in a storage unit? We have used storage units a number of times, when moving house and we wanted a blank canvas to work with for redecorating and with them being so cheap and mortgage prices so high, they can also be a superb way to add that extra room for storage. Or even for de-cluttering the house to give yourself a clutter-free 2024.
Some have great deals on, like Storage Works, which have a current offer of 50% OFF for storage of 8 weeks or more, and if you’re military services personnel (current or retired), you can have 15% off all storage.
With different sized rooms available to hire and flexibility of how long you have the storage unit for, it’s a really great option for the items you don’t need in the house but cant bring yourself to let go of.
So, how do you plan to de-clutter for the new year?
