Boston Tea Party

Posted on 19/08/2018

Location: Boston Tea Party, 30 Harborne Road, Birmingham, N15 3AA
Opening Times: Mon – Fri 7am – 6:30pm, Sat – Sun 8am – 6pm
Parking: At the back of BTP, £1 for 1 hour, £2 for 2 hours.

Described by themselves as a funky cafe chain serving up breakfast, burgers, salads and baked goods with sustainable ingredients. Boston Tea Party joined the global war on plastic recently and now have no plastic straws or bottles. It’s also one of the first cafes that I have been to where they no longer use single use coffee cups. You can either bring your own reusable cup, buy a reusable cup (£4.25 for an array of pretty rainbow coloured Ecoffee Cups) or you can loan a cup and drop it back at any BTP cafe to get a full refund.

BTP Edgbaston is such a lovely space, with an orangery, pineapple room, room with lots of children’s toys and games and a big outdoor space.

It’s a great place to go to in Birmingham and for us fellow mums it’s nice to find a cafe that is breastfeeding friendly and for dog lovers, dogs are welcome too.

The menu is quite varied. With plenty of options for brunch including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.

I had The Boss breakfast for £10.95 which had bacon, sausage, hog’s pudding, mushrooms, roasted new potatoes, roasted tomatoes, baked beans, scrambled eggs and two rounds of toast. It was very yummy and filling. So I didn’t need any dinner on the evening.

The girls chose beans on toast (£2) and an apple juice (£1.25) and were able to have a babyccino which is free for all children.

Voted in the top 25 for best brunch by The Times, I have to agree. The food is immense.

It’s not cheap, but it’s a lovely place to go to for a treat. And I’m sure it will be on my list of places to go to again after pay day.
