Romantic, moving, and memorable with an immense soundtrack ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An Officer and a Gentleman is a captivating story of love, courage, and redemption, based on the award-winning 80s movie with Richard Gere.
Filled with an iconic soundtrack that enabled me to re-live my youth with smash-hit songs including, “Girls just want to have fun”, “Living on a Prayer” and “Up Where We Belong”, all played with a live band of 5 talented musicians, it hit all the right notes.
The story follows Zack Mayo (Luke Baker), a young officer candidate, and Paula Pokrifki (Georgia Lennon), a factory worker who fall in love with one another.
There are some real stellar performances and captivating chemistry between the lead characters, drawing you deeper into the heart of the narrative. And it’s great to watch the love story unfold.
We also get to see tremendous performances from other cast members, including Sid Warley (Paul French), a fellow young officer candidate who meets Lynette Pomeroy (Sinead Long). A love story that managed to bring a tear to my eye.
But the ultimate highlight of the show for me was Paula, Sid, and Lynettes’ rendition of ‘Alone’. Georgia Lennons’ vocals are phenomenal. Goosebump inducing, and it is a real pleasure to watch her perform.
This show has everything to keep you entertained. Epic music, eye-catching choreography, well designed lighting and staging and a talented cast.
