A Wyevale Garden Centre: Father Christmas Experience

Posted on 05/12/2018

Location: A Wyevale Garden Centre, Shenstone, Birmingham Rd, Lichfield, WS14 OQQ

Opening Times: Mon to Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 10:30-4:30

Price: £10.00

Wyevale Garden Centre at Shenstone was todays choice of location for Jemima to meet Father Christmas and for me to sit down and have a chilled lunch in the Garden Kitchen Restaurant (which was perfect for a Christmassy Turkey sandwich for me and a lunch box for Jemima with a ham sandwich, orange, jelly, dairylea breadsticks with cheese and a drink).

Jemima had a play in the soft play section here after finishing her lunch and I got to watch from a table right next to the soft play, whilst having a bit of a mummy break (yes that’s right, I got to have a mummy break for ten minutes).

Jemima loved the Christmas displays around the centre. Waving and saying hello to the polar bears, donkey, penguins, camels and even kissed some sheep. She was amazed by all of the Christmas Trees and bright lights.

Jemima visited Father Christmas which was one of the better Father Christmas experiences that we have done.

For £10 you get greeted by an elf who let’s your child choose a magic seed. They plant it in a pot, write their name on a label and when you visit Father Christmas he and your child both do a magic spell together, place the pot into a cupboard and at the end of your visit, your pot with the magic seed in has turned into a real Christmas tree (a small one that children can plant in the garden), Jemima was amazed by this (and it was done well as even I didn’t see the swap happen).

Santa was lovely. He spent a good amount of time talking with Jemima and gave her a gift (a very nice cuddly bear that Matilda has now decided is hers).

When you leave Father Christmas you get to go to a craft table where the children can decorate their tree with tinsel, tiny baubles and decorations. Jemima loved this.

So if you’re looking for somewhere to visit Father Christmas. This is the place for you. £10 per child. Open every day in December (pre Xmas day), check online for times – you can also prebook (although we didn’t).

The garden centre also has lots of shops within the centre – the perfect space to get a few Christmas presents.

I’m starting to feel very Christmassy.
