Event: A cruise aboard Bosworth Cruises Ltd
Moored at: The Waters Edge, Brindley Place, B1 2JB (next to Handmade Burger Co.)
Length of Tour: Approx 60 minutes.
Departure Times and Prices:
On Sunday for Father’s Day we were treating the girls Dad by going on a Canal Boat tour and had messaged Sherborne Wharf cruises about booking some seats aboard the -11:30am tour. We were told booking wasn’t required, just to arrive at 11:15am for the 11:30am tour. We arrived at 11:10am to be told that the boat was already full and the next boat would be at 1pm. A little disappointed at receiving wrong information, we headed off across the canal to the section where Bosworth Cruises Moor up to start their tour.
I have to admit, my disappointment at missing Sherborne Wharf cruises was quickly lost when we realised how great the people running Bosworth Cruises were.
The people getting off the barge from the previous tour stopped to tell us how much fun we would have and how the tour guide was full of ‘bants’ (yes this came from the mouth of a 70 plus year old). And they were right, it was a fantastic tour with lots of giggles. Even Matilda was laughing away at parts.
The tour was educational, funny and relaxing. A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
The tour takes you from Brindley Place up to the Vale, going by Edgbaston Reservoir and back again.
The girls enjoyed spotting bridges and ducks along the way. People walking alongside the canal path and bridges waved at the girls and they enjoyed waving back.
I had worried the girls might find a 60 minute journey tough, but they loved it and were kept entertained all the way through.
What a superb Sunday afternoon.
