Toby Carvery Streetly is located on Chester Road North, Streetly, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B73 6SP and is one of our favourite Toby restaurants.
We were kindly invited along in September to check out the new menu and we were very impressed. We are not vegan or vegetarian ourselves – although Matilda seems to be heading that way, but we were happy to see so many options available for people with dietry requirements.
The service at this branch is always faultless. Quick, efficient and friendly, you feel welcomed and almost part of a family here (we come about 4 times a year).
The restaurant is spacious and very well designed. They have a private room which can seat 40 people if you have a birthday meal or special occasion to celebrate.
The main restaurant area is also spacious and inviting. There is no where in this restaurant where you feel squashed next to another table dining.
We were seated within less than 2 minutes and started to browse through the extensive menus. This restaurant is not ‘just’ a buffet carvery, the menu now has other extensive options and you can still go and choose your own veg if you wanted.
The girls were given menus with crayons and pictures to colour, which kept them entertained whilst we browsed the many menu options.
We decided on two portions of the pigs in blankets, a regular sized carvery, a king size carvery, a children’s vegetarian carvery and a childrens regular carvery. As tempting as all of the other options looked, our heart (or bellies) stick with the carvery buffet. Yum.
We headed over to the carvery area to line up.
Just look at all of this delicious food to choose from.
We all piled our plates high, ready to fill our tummies.
There were lots of thumbs up from the girls and positive happy noises whilst they tucked into the food.
The food quality was outstanding. And the choices were phenomenal. Something for everyone. I really liked the beef dripping roast potatoes.
We were very full after clearing most of our plates but couldn’t resist choosing a pudding. Jemima was very excited about the pudding choices.
I went for the vegan Belgian Chocolate and Raspberry Fondant with a scoop of coconut milk sorbet which was absolutely delicious. People often comment that vegan choices in restaurants are basic and tasteless , but this is definitely full of flavour and such a wonderful combination of textures and tastes.
My husband chose the New Chocolate and Orange Mousse Cake which was a chocolate chip cookie base, topped with chocolate mousse swirled with orange curd, topped with a chocolate glaze. So nice that my husband insisted I try it, which I did, but he then regretted as I didn’t want to give it him back. So yummy!!
Jemima asked for a bowl of custard on its own, which the restaurant kindly catered for.
Matilda chose a fruit lolly (for a bargain 99p).
Overall we had a fantastic trip and would recommend this Toby Carvery branch if you live in and around Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield or Walsall. It really is worth a drive to.
Thank you for having us. We will be back again soon.
